On 01 March 2023, the Municipal People’s Committee (MPC) of Buon Ma Thuot City issued a Progress Report on the preparation for the 8^th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2023.

According to the Report, Buon Ma Thuot MPC has issued the Plan of Implementation of the Free Coffee Day as part of the 8^th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2023.

Based on the list of coffee vendors in all districts and communes, Buon Ma Thuot MPC has organized a meeting with the chairpersons of the district and commune People’s Committees (PCs) and tasked them to form Committee-led delegations in charge of communications with the coffee vendors at the respective locality. The delegations’ duty was to call on the local vendors to offer free coffee for at least 1 day starting from 10 March (coffee shall be made available to the public, no registration required). Each PC must assign a focal contact officer who works with the coffee businesses and vendors, as well as regularly update the implementation progress with the Buon Ma Thuot PCC for further directions.

Moreover, the PCC has also sent Open Letters to local coffee vendors to solicit their support and encourage their participation in the Festival at large and the Free Coffee Day in particular.

By 1 March, 365 coffee vendors have registered to join the free coffee activity, including 319 vendors offering free coffee for 1 day (10 March); 20 vendors for 2 days (10-11 March); 3 vendors for 3 days (10-12 March); 7 vendors for 4 days (10-13 March); 10 vendors for 5 days (10-14 March). On Phan Dinh Giot street, Tan Tien Commune, which is the free coffee street of the Festival, there will be 4 free coffee carts that open for 5 days (10-14 March) managed by Trung Nguyen Group, DakLak September 2^nd Import-Export Company, Pro Media Events Company – Ama Coffee, and TNI King Coffee Company.

The list of the free coffee vendors (including name, address...) will be updated and revised regularly by the PCC and announced to the public through the public loudspeaker system at the locality twice a day. The vendors participating in the event will be given uniform banners.

In the coming time, the Buon Ma Thuot PCC will continue to direct the district and commune-level PCs in calling on more vendors to join the free coffee day (coffee shall be made available to the public, no registration required). The deadline for vendor registration is 09 March.
