The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, themed “Buon Ma Thuot - The Destination for the World Coffee,” aims to celebrate Vietnamese coffee and affirm the city’s position on the world coffee map, contributing to the local economy and tourism.

The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival will feature trade promotion and specialized activities of Dak Lak coffee industry.

Scheduled to take place from March 9 to March 13, 2025, in Buon Ma Thuot City and surrounding areas in Dak Lak Province, the festival is organized by the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee in collaboration with central ministries, Central Highlands provinces, and various corporations and businesses. This event commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot victory and the liberation of Dak Lak Province (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025).

At a press conference held on February 21 in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyễn Tuấn Hà, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee and head of the festival organizing committee, emphasized the vital role of coffee as an agricultural product that significantly impacts the socio-economic lives of local residents, particularly in the Central Highlands and Dak Lak Province.

“Buon Ma Thuot is known as the ‘Coffee Capital of Viet Nam,’ boasting the largest coffee cultivation area and production volume in the country, with approximately 210,000 hectares yielding over 520,000 tons annually, accounting for more than 30% of the national output. Coffee from our province has been exported to hundreds of countries and territories worldwide,” Mr. Hà highlighted.

Over the past eight editions, the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival has become a prominent event in the Vietnamese coffee industry, leaving a lasting impression on both domestic and international visitors.

According to the organizing committee, this festival is crucial for promoting the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand, enhancing the image of Buon Ma Thuot as the “Coffee City of the World,” and elevating the status of Vietnamese coffee on the global stage. It will also drive socio-economic development and tourism in Dak Lak Province, honor coffee growers, processors, and traders, and showcase the province’s tourism potential while encouraging investment in coffee and agricultural products.

Additionally, the festival will promote the traditional cultural heritage of local ethnic groups, particularly the Gong Culture of the Central Highlands, recognized as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival will feature 17 official activities, including new highlights such as a digital content creation competition to promote the festival online, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Trung Nguyên Legend Coffee Factory, and a coffee camp titled “Companionship and Sharing” at the historical-cultural site of CADA Plantation in Krong Pak District and the Specialty Coffee Roasting Viet Nam 2025.

The festival will also include essential trade promotion activities for the coffee industry in Dak Lak and Viet Nam.
