The upcoming festival will serve as a meaningful celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Victory of Buon Ma Thuot and the liberation of Dak Lak Province (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025). It will also provide an opportunity to honor coffee culture, coffee growers, and the coffee industry, enhance the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee brand and establish Buon Ma Thuot City as the “Coffee Capital of the World.”

On the morning of February 26, a press conference was held in Buon Ma Thuot City to introduce the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025. The event was presided over by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, along with representatives from various provincial departments.
Attendees included leaders from provincial departments and localities, sponsors, festival media ambassadors, and numerous reporters from both national and local news agencies.

During the press conference, Standing Deputy Chairman Nguyen Tuan Ha highlighted the vital role of coffee as an agricultural product in the socio-economic life of the region, particularly in the Central Highlands and Dak Lak Province. Buon Ma Thuot is renowned as the “Coffee Capital of Viet Nam,” boasting the largest coffee area and production in the country, with approximately 210,000 hectares and an annual yield exceeding 520,000 tons, representing over 30% of the national output. The province’s coffee is exported to hundreds of countries and territories worldwide.
Over the course of eight national-scale festivals, the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival has emerged as a key event in the Vietnamese coffee industry, leaving a significant impact and positive impression on both domestic and international visitors.
Building on the successes of previous festivals, the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee, in collaboration with central ministries and sectors, will organize the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, themed “Buon Ma Thuot - The Destination of World Coffee.” The festival will take place from March 9 to March 13, 2025, featuring 17 official activities along with various local events.

This festival will not only celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Victory of Buon Ma Thuot and the liberation of Dak Lak Province but also honor coffee culture, coffee growers, and the coffee industry. It will promote the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee brand and enhance the image of Buon Ma Thuot City as the “Coffee Capital of the World.” Furthermore, the festival will provide an opportunity for Dak Lak Province to showcase its image, tourism potential and advantages, promote and attract investment in coffee production and processing and other agricultural products, and highlight the unique cultural heritage of its ethnic communities, particularly the Central Highlands Gong Culture, which is recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 will feature a variety of exciting, unique, impressive, diverse and meaningful activities. These include a digital content creation competition promoting the festival online, opening and closing ceremonies, a trade fair and exhibition focused on coffee and OCOP products, coffee brewing competitions and tasting experiences, scientific workshops on coffee industry development, an international trade conference to elevate Vietnamese coffee, street festivals, a farmer’s competition, and the “Companionship and Sharing” coffee camp at the CADA plantation historical-cultural site in Krong Pac District.
In addition, visitors can look forward to other unique activities, such as a light festival, a rock band festival, free coffee tastings, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Trung Nguyen Legend Coffee Factory, and the commencement of the Trade Center-Hotel-Residential Complex project at 2 Mai Hac De, Buon Ma Thuot City, as well as the groundbreaking of the Phu Xuan Industrial Park infrastructure investment project.
During the festival, various tourism experiences will be offered, including the “Coffee Journey” and “Heritage Journey”, the Buon Don Elephant Festival, the Lak District Canoeing Festival, and a range of eco-tourism, cultural tourism, adventure tourism, and community tourism experiences in local villages. Localities will also register cultural, sports, and tourism activities to participate in the festival.
The Organizing Committee for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 has appointed Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 and Top 5 Miss Universe 2018 H’Hen Nie, along with Miss Vietnam Tourism Ambassador 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa, as the festival’s Media Ambassadors.

Standing Deputy Chairman Nguyen Tuan Ha emphasized, “The collaboration between the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee, central ministries, and the Central Highlands provinces to organize the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 is a significant trade promotion activity. It aims to assist domestic and foreign businesses in showcasing their products, connecting production with export, expanding markets, and attracting investment. This will maximize internal resources, enhance international cooperation, and leverage external resources for rapid and effective economic development. Furthermore, the festival provides an excellent opportunity for managers, businesses, and international friends to meet and collaborate, thereby promoting the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand, attracting investment, facilitating trade connections, developing tourism, and showcasing the unique cultural aspects of coffee and the province’s potential and strengths. Our goal is to create an image of Dak Lak as a dynamic, friendly, polite, and welcoming destination.”
At the press conference, the Festival Organizing Committee also addressed questions from reporters regarding the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 and the future direction of coffee production, processing, and business in the province.
Preparations for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 are currently underway, with all activities being finalized to ensure a vibrant, unique, and engaging festival season. With its exciting and meaningful events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Victory of Buon Ma Thuot and the liberation of Dak Lak Province, the festival is expected to attract a large number of domestic and international visitors to Buon Ma Thuot City and Dak Lak Province, a land known for its sunshine, winds, and world-famous Robusta coffee.
