In the Central Highlands, March is the season bees go to looking for flowers to get bile, the traditional holiday customs of the Ede ethnic minority with a unique festival on a beautiful plateau. In  March, 2019, tourists can not miss the 7^th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, 2019 with the theme of  “The Quintessence of Jungle”, taking place from March 9^th – 16^th, 2019.

Logo: Use the logo won the highest prize of the Logo Design Competition for Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, held in 2018: "LAN TỎA" (“SPREADING”) logo by Le Trung Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City.

The target of the Festival

- Promote Buon Ma Thuot Coffee brand, develop Vietnamese specialty coffee; step by step to make Buon Ma Thuot become the destination of world coffee, contribute to raising the value of and affirm Vietnam's position on the world market.

- Honor coffee growers, processors and traders; encourage the community to join hands in the development of coffee culture in Dak Lak province in particular and Vietnam in general.

- Introduce images, potentials and strengths of the province; promote investment in coffee processing and agricultural products in the area; attract domestic and foreign tourists to Dak Lak.

- Practically celebrate the 44^th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory –Dak Lak’s liberation (March 10th 1975-2019), paved the way for the Spring 1975 General Uprising to liberate southern Vietnam for national unification..

FESTIVAL’S ACTIVITIES (SIX GROUPS)

I. Opening Ceremony

With the theme of "The quintessence of Jungle", the grand Opening Ceremony of the ^7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2019 will take place at 20h00 on March 9^th, 2019 (Saturday) at the March 10^th Square, Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak province. After the opening ritual of the Festival (about 30 minutes) with the speech of the Party and State leaders, the art program "The quintessence of Jungle” with a unique and creative scenario will convey the message that Buon Ma Thuot will gradually become a world coffee destination. The ceremony will be expectedly broadcast live on VTV1, VTV5, VTV8, DRT and other Radio and Televisions of Central Highlands provinces.

The Festival Organizing Committee invited Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, Top 5 Miss Universe 2018 H’Hen Nie as the Media Ambassador of the Festival; Top 15 Miss Vietnam 2018, Miss Tourism Ha Luong Bao Hang; Supermodel H’Ang Nie, the 2^nd runner-up of  Miss World Next Top Model 2018, and Dak Lak famous singers, artists, actors, etc. who will perform at the Opening Ceremony.

II. Conference on Dak Lak Investment Promotion 2019

The conference will be taken place from 8h00 on March 10^th, 2019 at Muong Thanh Hotel, Buon Ma Thuot City. It is expected that leaders of the Party, the State, ministries, central branches, and Central Highlands provinces as well as coffee producers, domestic and foreign investors, relevant departments, branches and localities will attend the Conference. This is important event to introduce the potential, orientation, projects calling for investment, and investment incentive policies of Dak Lak province, focusing on agriculture, post-harvest processing and preservation, renewable energy, tourism infrastructure and urban areas.

III. Exhibitions and Workshops

The Coffee Specialized Exhibition will be taken place from March 9^th  to March 13^th, 2019 at No. 72 Nguyen Tat Thanh St., Buon Ma Thuot City, where the Ama Thuot Park will be built in coming time. The Exhibition will display about 600 booths of coffee and coffee-related businesses of domestic and foreign enterprises. In which, there is a display area of export products booths under the agreement with Jeollabuk province, Korea on cooperating and developing trade promotion activities between the two localities.

Workshop on the Development of Vietnam’s Specialty Coffee will be held at 14h00 on March 10^th, 2019 at Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, No. 09 Le Duan St., Buon Ma Thuot City. Dak Lak Province is the "Coffee Capital of Vietnam", with the largest coffee area and production in the country. With an area of over 204,000 hectares, the annual harvest output is about 450,000 tons, accounting for about 37% of the country’s coffee production. Dak Lak’s coffee has been exported to hundreds of countries and territories around the world and always played  an important role in socio-economic development of the province. However, developing specialty coffee is a new direction that will be discussed by experts and scientists at this Conference.

From March 9^th to March 16^th, 2019, visitors will be able to visit the Exhibition of World’s Coffee History at the World Coffee Museum of Trung Nguyen Legend Group, Nguyen Dinh Chieu St., Buon City Ma Thuot. The Exhibition will display thousands of unique artifacts related to the world’s coffee history. Come to the Coffee Festival, visitors cannot ignore this place.

Also on March 9^th – 16^th, 2019, at the Dak Lak Provincial Museum, visitors loving history will be able to visit the Photo Exhibition of the 44^th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory – Paths of History with about 150 vivid pictures of historical journeys over 44 years Buon Ma Thuot’s Victory, Dak Lak’s Liberation. Besides, visitors will be experienced with the artisans to make Kpan chairs, dugout canoes, etc. from the wood of a hundred year old camphor tree.

IV. Promotional and honoring activities

The colorful Street Festival will be performed at 16h00 on March 9^th, 2019 (Saturday), starting at Dak Lak Cultural Center, Buon Ma Thuot Six-way Roundabout. Visitors will be enjoyed the passionate and vibrant atmosphere of the cultural colorful Street Festival. The Festival will take place in the main streets of Buon Ma Thuot city, the highlight is from the Six-way Roundabout to the 3^rd Kilometer roundabout and ending at the March 10^th Square, Buon Ma Thuot city. Domestic and foreign artists, as well as thousands of people in Dak Lak province will participate in the Festival.

Good coffee farmers from coffee growing areas throughout the country will have an opportunity to participate in the Farmers' Competition Final at 20h00, on March 11^th , 2019 at the main stage of the Festival, the March 10 Square, Buon Ma Thuot city.

The Coffee Specialized Exhibition, the Vietnam’s Specialty Coffee Competition, 2019  will be organized on March 5^th - 9^th, 2019. In spite if the first time of the Competition, the Competition has attracted the participaton of many coffee producers and processors. The international tasting experts invited from the USA, Mexico, Japan, Indonesia, etc. will hold the balance for this Competition.

Although Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Book Street is in the process of construction and expected to be opened from March 9^th, 2019 and then will be maintained for a long time, This is  a “hit” destination for young people to check-in with unique frescoes. It will display and sell books and cultural products in combination with enjoy coffee culture. Despite there is not a long street of coffee books (in Alley 02, Phan Chu Trinh Street, Buon Ma Thuot City), but the online community says that if tourists do not come here, they will not come to Buon Ma Thuot (! )

During the festival period, on March 9^th – 16^th, 2019, at some streets, the Provincial Museum and famous cafes in Buon Ma Thuot city, visitors will be enjoyed free coffee of the Vietnamese coffee capital. The visitors, who firstly come to Buon Ma Thuot, please remember not to drink over 5 cups of coffee per day because it may be gotten drunk than drunken wine!

V. Travel Itinerary

Those who are interested in elephants, please visit Buon Don in 3 days of March 11^th, 12^th, 13^th, 2019 to experience the Buon Don Elephant Festival 2019 with the water wharf praying ceremony, the health praying ceremony for elephants; the elephant running contest, elephant soccer contest, elephant tugging contest, elephant swimming contest and traditional cultural and sports activities of Buon Don district.

During the Festival, in the ethnic minority villages of Buon Ma Thuot city, the rituals, festivals and unique cultural identity of ethnic minorities will be performed such as: Raining praying ceremony, health praying ceremony, ceremony of fraternization, new rice celebration, maturity ceremony, etc.

On March 13^th, 2019, food lovers please visit Ko Tam Ecotourism Village at No. 789 Pham Van Dong Street, Tan Hoa Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City to enjoy the atmosphere of Highlands Cuisine Competition. What is more wonderful when you witness the process of processing unique dishes of sunny and windy plateaus and then enjoy, right?

Besides, on March 14^th, 2019, tourists will be an opportunity to experience the exclusive dugout canoes in Lak Lake, Lak district. There will be coffee tours (experience, explore the process of coffee planting, caring, producing, processing and enjoying coffee); Ecotourism and cultural tours (sightseeing, picnic destinations as Yok Don National Park, Buon Don Tourist Area, Lak Lake, Lac Giao Temple, Buon Ma Thuot Exile House, Provincial Museum, CADA Plantation, etc.). Adventure tour as rowing dugout canoes on Lak lake; pass the rapids on the Serepok river from Dray Sap Thuong waterfall to Dray Nur waterfall) are also ready to welcome visitors.

VI. Closing Ceremony

The Closing ceremony of the 7^th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2019 will take place from 20h on March 16^th, 2019 (Saturday) at the main stage of the March 10^th Square, Buon Ma Thuot city. The program is expected to be broadcast live on VTV5 and VTV8 channels, relaying on Radio and TV of Central Highlands provinces. After the ceremony to summarize the Festival, it will be an art performance that promises to be very special with the theme "Dak Lak and friends".

In March, 2019, we would like to invite visitors and tourists to come to the sunny and windy plateau, to " the miss without name" of Buon Ma Thuot - Dak Lak, to join the atmosphere of the 7^th Buon Ma Coffee Festival in 2019 with the desire to gradually bring Buon Ma Thuot become the world coffee destination, and experience the unique culture of the land and people of the Central Highlands area.

The Festival’s Organization Committee also wishes and hopes that reporters of news agencies, social media administrators will be a positive bridge to introduce and promote the contents of the Festival to the masses of people as well as domestic and foreign tourists.
