Semi-final Round of “Farmers’ Contest” 2019 (16/03/2019, 16:28)

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company held the semi-final round of the “Farmers’ Contest” 2019 at the Provincial Cultural Center on March 11th with the presence of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Giang Gry Nie Knong and leaders of relevant departments, agencies and units.

The Contest’s Organizing Committee presented flowers to the Board of examiners

The “Farmers’ Contest” was an outstanding activity of the 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2019. The contest under the theme “Smart Coffee Cultivation” aims to orient coffee growers towards cultivation and application smart farming techniques to respond the climate change, reduce production costs, increase income and economic efficiency.

The semi-final round had the participation of 8 teams including coffee growers living in Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Kon Tum, Binh Phuoc, Quang Tri and Son La through 4 sections of the contest: Farmers’ integration; farmers’ linkages; farmers’ rhetoric and farmers’ knowledge with the contents related to knowledge, skills, experience, knowledge of coffee cultivation and production and concerned issues from production to processing, specialty coffee market as well as policies related to coffee production. At the end of the semi-final round, the Organizing Committee selected four teams with the highest scores including Dak Lak, Kon Tum, Lam Dong and Gia Lai to compete in the final round which was held at Square 10/3, Buon Ma Thuot city in the evening of March 11th.
