From March 11-13, 2019, in the framework of the 7^th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival  2019, Buon Don District will organize an Elephant Racing. The elephant racing will be opened at 8:00 dated March 12, 2019 and closed at 09:00 dated March 13, 2019. The race will take place in Krong Na Commune, Buon Don District.

The elephant festival consists of specific activities such as: Water wharf worshiping ceremony; Ceremony on praying for elephants’ health; performance of the scene of hunting and taming wild elephants; tug of war between elephants and people; contest for elephants makeup; elephant marching; opening ceremony of the Elephant racing; running contest for elephants; buffet party for elephants; football contest for elephants; elephants serving tourists in Buon Don landscape; swimming contest for elephants. Finally, elephants will be awarded after ending each activity.

This is a practical activity to introduce the cultural, socio-economic potential of the district; to honor the cultural values of ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands. The organization of Buon Don Elephant Racing aims to further promote investment attraction in infrastructure and facilities for the tourism industry; gradually to help tourism become an economic sector with sustainable development, contributing positively to the process of socio-economic development of the locality.
