Bolstering Coordination to Effectively Deliver on the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2023 (08/03/2023, 09:29)

In the morning, 2 March, the Organizing Committee of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2023 convened a session to review and evaluate the progress of the delivery of preparatory items for the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2023. The First Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee presided over the session.

          Reports at the session indicated that the preparations for the 18 official events of the Festival (the Opening Ceremony, the Specialized Coffee Expo, the Seminar on the Development of High-quality Vietnamese Coffee, the International Business Matchmaking Conference, the Photography Exhibitions “Vietnamese Coffee Culture - the Road to Establishing a World Cultural Heritage” and “World Coffee History”; the Dak Lak Flora and Fauna Exhibition and Contest; the Street Festival; the Viet Nam Coffee Brewmaster Contest; the Street Festival; the Free Coffee Day; the Coffee Plant Handicraft Competition; the Buon Don Elephant Festival, the Lak District Dug-out Canoe Race; discovery tours; the musical play “The Aspiration of Dam San”; and the Closing Ceremony) are being actively worked on by relevant services, to ensure the success of the event. The Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Video Clip Competition was concluded and its award conferred on 17 February 2023. As of this writing, all districts, townships and cities within the provinces have scheduled events and programs to support and be part of the Festival.

          At the session, the delegates reported on the progress, and spent time discussing and provided mutual feedback on the organization of the delivery of the Festival's program, such as the visual presentation at the opening and closing ceremonies; public security and order, traffic safety, and the prevention of traffic congestion during the Festival; and plans for welcoming visiting delegations, among others.

          To ensure that the preparations for the Festival would proceed smoothly and effectively, the relevant services would focus on producing the documentary on the potential for the development of Vietnamese delicacy coffee for screening at the High-Quality Vietnamese Coffee Development Seminar, setting the seating plan for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, completing the decoration of Specialized Coffee Expo booths, and conducting rehearsals for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Festival of Light and the Street Festival.

          Addressing the Session, First Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha called on the relevant services to make haste with the review and delivery of preparations for the Festival's events, and early adjust and fill out in detail the program for the Opening and Closing ceremonies. Relevant public services and bodies would ensure better coordination for the smooth delivery of the Festival's events. The event's guest list would be continually updated to ensure safe and hospitable accommodation arrangements for them. And efforts would be made to ensure public order and security throughout the Festival.

          The Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2023, under the theme of “Buon Ma Thuot, the World Coffee Destination”, takes place from 10 to 14 March 2023. The event aims to promote the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee brand, raise the profile and gradually establish the standing of Vietnamese coffee in the international market. It will also express appreciation to the coffee producers, manufacturers and traders, and bring the unique image of the province's coffee culture and its other strengths into the public spotlight.
