Appraising detailed content of the scenario of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023 (13/02/2023, 16:52)

In the afternoon of 1 February, the Organizing Committee of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival of 2023 held a meeting to appraise the detailed scenario of Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Lights Festival within the framework of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023.

Attending the meeting included comrade Pham Ngoc Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Deputy Head of the Festival Steering Committee, comrade Nguyen Tuan Ha, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of the Festival Organizing Committee, comrade Vo Van Canh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, comrade H’Yim Kdoh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of a number of units and localities in the province.

Report from the meeting indicated that the Opening Ceremony of the Festival is scheduled at 20 hours, on 10 March 2023 at the 10 March Square, with the theme of “Buon Ma Thuot – The destination of the world coffee”. The art performance at the Opening Ceremony consisted of three chapters (Chapter 1: Vietnamese coffee connecting five continents; Chapter 2: the quintessence of the immense mountains and forests; and Chapter 3: Buon Ma Thuot – The destination of the world coffee). Joining the performance are singers and artists coming from Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the Central Highlands.

The Closing Ceremony is planned to commence at 20 hours, 14 March 2023, at the 10 March Square with the theme “Buon Ma Thuot, city of coffee – originating place for inventions”. At the Closing Ceremony, the art performance program included two chapters, specifically Chapter 1: Buon Ma Thuot - pride of coffee city; and Chapter 2: Coffee city - originating place for inventions”.

The Lights Festival is to be held in the evening of 11 March 2023, with the theme “Coffee World - Shining Ban Me”. This is a new and creative activity, appearing for the first time within the framework of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival of 2023.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Deputy Head of the Festival Steering Committee, Pham Ngoc Nghi asked the concerned organization and units to maintain close collaboration and coordination so that the Festival would be smoothly conducted and good preparations for programs and activities should be made to ensure the new and unique feature of the Festival, reflecting the rich and traditional identity of the province.

In order to have good preparations for the Festival, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Chairman of the Festival Organizing Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha stressed that in the coming time, the concerned parties should early adjust and complete the detailed content of the scenario of the Opening, Closing Ceremonies and the Lights Festival, taking into account the comments and views expressed  by those attending the meeting, in order to submit to the Provincial People’s Committee for approval, before 6 February 2023. He further mentioned that the decoration of the main stages for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies should be in line with the local culture and security and order must be ensured during the time of the Festival activities.

The 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2023, with the theme “Buon Ma Thuot – Destination of world coffee”, is expected to last from 9 March to 14 March 2023, with many rich and unique activities. The Festival is aimed promoting the coffee brand of Buon Ma Thuot, enhancing the value and gradually affirming the position of Vietnamese coffee in the world market. The Festival is also aimed at honoring coffee grower, producers and businessmen. It, at the same time, offers a good opportunity to present the uniqueness of coffee culture, the potentials and strong points of the province.
