Inheriting and promoting the results achieved in the past 6 Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festivals and Buon Ma Thuot Coffee brand, the 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, 2019 will take place from March 9th – 16th 2019, with the theme "The Quintessence of Jungle".
Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival was held for the first time in 2005, with two main topics including equipment, technology, materials for coffee production and coffee processing. The first Coffee Festival was held in association with the 30th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory. From the success of the First Coffee Festival, the 2nd Coffee Festival, 2008 was organized with the theme: "Origin for successes"; the 3rd Coffee Festival, 2011 themed “Thanksgiving to Coffee”; the 4th Festival, 2013 themed: "Buon Ma Thuot Coffee – Linking - Developing - Being sustainable"; the 5th Coffee Festival, 2015 themed: “Buon Ma Thuot Coffee – Historic Spring Roads”; The 6th Coffee Festival, 2017 themed: “Converging quintessence – Promoting identity – Linking to develop”.

At each time of organization, the Festival’s theme always attaches the formation and development of coffee sector with the development of Buon Ma Thuot City in over 100 years to become "The Capital Coffee of Vietnam”. From these meanings, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 4452/VPCP-KTN, dated June 28th, 2010 on recognizing the Coffee Festival as the national level Festival, an opportunity to honor Vietnamese coffee and be held periodically every two years.

The Festival aims to promote Buon Ma Thuot Coffee brand, develop Vietnamese specialty coffee; step by step to make Buon Ma Thuot become the destination of world coffee, contribute to raising the value and affirming Vietnam's position in the international arena. In addition, the Festival is also an opportunity to honor coffee growers, coffee processors and traders, to encourage the community to join hands to develop coffee culture in Dak Lak province in particular, Vietnam in general.

Besides, the Festival aims to introduce Dak Lak’s images, potentials and strengths; promote major investment projects on processing; attract domestic and foreign tourists to Dak Lak. This event is also a practical activity to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory, Dak Lak Liberation Day.
The 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2019 will be held in Buon Ma Thuot City with the main stage in the March 10th Square. Activities of the Festival include the Street Festival; Farmers' Competition Final; Vietnam’s Specialty Coffee Competition, 2019; Coffee Book Street; and enjoying free coffee.

Activities of the "Travel Itinerary" is associated with the Coffee Festival for visitors who not only to participate in the Festival but also to visit and enjoy the cultural quintessence of the Highlands region -paths full of sunshine and wind. The “Travel Itinerary” includes: Buon Don Elephant Festival; participating in traditional festivals of local ethnic minorities in the province; attending the Competition of Highlands Coffee and Cuisine; dug-out canoe racing on Lak lake; and some others tours.

Especially, the Festival’s Organizing Committee invited Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H’Hen Nie as the Social Media Ambassador of the Festival; and others Dak Lak people as Top 15 Miss Vietnam 2018, Miss Tourism; Supermodel, Miss World Next Top Model 2018, as well as famous singers, artists and actors, etc will perform at the Festival.
The success of the Festival will convey the message of Buon Ma Thuot as the destination of world coffee.
Dak Lak has the largest area and highest production of coffee in the country. With over 204,000 hectares, the annual harvest output is about 450,000 tons, accounting for about 37% of the country’s coffee production. Dak Lak’s coffee has been exported to hundreds of countries and territories around the world and always plays an important role in socio-economic development of the province.
